Fall into a Great Year: Cast Your Votes!
There's no shortage of advice about how to start a great day: get up early; exercise; do the most important thing first.
A while back, I came across a reframe that changed how I think about it: a great day begins the evening before. That might look like a well-groomed to do list for tomorrow, a good dinner with cherished connections, or solid sleep. By the time the alarm goes off, the day is already half won. The same holds for a week: a great week likely doesn’t begin on Monday–but on Friday, when you close open loops, decide what matters next, and ensure your calendar reflects those priorities.
As Summer transitioned into Fall, I've been thinking about that idea on a larger scale.
We tend to treat Fall as a season of loss. We lose the light, the warmth, the leaves. But–as I've learned while fielding my four-year-old's shockingly probing questions–plants have something profound to teach us. Before many plants let a leaf go, they pull the nutrients worth keeping back into their roots, bulbs, or branches. Only then do they release what no longer serves them. Sparse branches in October are simply a sign that the world is getting ready for Spring.
As coaches, we know this rhythm well. We help clients sort out what to carry forward and what to set down. Fall is a good time to seize that reflective practice for ourselves. What from this year is worth drawing in? What are you ready to release?
The same question applies to our chapter. ICF Washington State's 2027 doesn't begin in January. It begins now, and one of the most important ways we prepare is by bringing new leaders with new perspectives onto our board.
ICFWA’s Nominating Committee has identified three coaches who have demonstrated a willingness and ability to continue raising the bar on the experiences we provide our members.
Those individuals are:
- Elavie Ndura
- Lindsay Dart
- Saglara Meyer
You can learn more about these nominees and cast your vote for these individuals at the link above. Please vote by 12:00 PM PT 11/06/26 and stay tuned for more exciting news about 2027.
