From Reflection to Action: Charting Our Path Forward

ICFWA Newsletter

Happy October!

Fall is settling in with a slight chill in the air, and I’m feeling that familiar tension between “phew, most of the year is behind us” and “oh no, there’s still so much I want to do!”

At ICF Washington, we’re feeling a similar mix: gratitude for all that’s been accomplished and momentum for what’s ahead. That energy was especially present when our board gathered in person last weekend for our Fall Board Retreat.

While most of the year we meet virtually, these rare in-person gatherings remind us why this work matters: being in the same room, feeling each other’s presence, and reconnecting to our shared purpose.

It was a day of connection, reflection, and collaboration.

We grounded ourselves in our collective goal to serve our members, elevate the coaching profession, and strengthen the foundation of a thriving, inclusive chapter.

Here’s a peek into what we explored:

  • Membership insights from our annual survey (more to share next month!)

  • Equity in action: how it shows up in how we lead and coach

  • Strategic priorities for 2025–2026

  • Our 2026 “Playbook” on how we work together as a board

  •  ...and plenty of honest, meaningful conversations along the way.

Every time we meet, I’m inspired by the candor, care, and creativity each board member brings: thoughtful leaders who not only give their time, but their heart to this community.

We’re excited to share more in the months ahead, including ways for members to get involved and shape the next chapter of ICF Washington.

Here’s to thinking big, acting with intention, and continuing to elevate coaching across our state.

Thank you for being part of this growing, thoughtful, and committed coaching community.

With gratitude,

Marriot Winquist

ICF Washington Board President
