Enhancing Coaching Presence through Improvisation Practices

This workshop promises to be a fun improvisation sampler. We’ll be exploring body awareness through movement as a means to hone our listening and perceiving skills, and develop the self-trust necessary to bring our whole selves to the coaching relationship. Learning to trust the unknowable.

Nine out of the 11 core competencies at the Masters level speaks to the coaches’ ability to be in the moment, possessing a willingness to not know, letting go of the comfort of known questions, scripts, tools formulas; in a word to improvise.  Further they speak to the coaches’ ability to perceive through the felt senses, to attune, be intuitive and organic.

We’ll be building on the idea, that effective coaching happens within alchemy relationships, that the coaches presence is an essential ingredient as described by Jung;

“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”

We will experience:

  • Building spontaneous relationships
  • Discovering your ability to employ openness and style flexibility
  • Connecting completely
  • Co creating in the moment from what is actually present
  • Developing deep curiosity undiluted by the need to perform
  • Expanding your acceptance of discomfort to not know
  • Engage your intuitive and energetic perception
  • Developing perception that is felt
  • Attuning with your whole learning self
  • Trusting yourself totally
  • Having fun while learning something new about yourself
