Susan Mann has over 30 years of leadership experience in banking, higher education, and philanthropy.  In her most recent role with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Susan led a global Learning & Development organization that enriched the lives of those within the organization and beyond.  At the Gates Foundation, she created an award-winning leadership development and professional coaching program.  Susan’s depth of knowledge around transition, culture change, leadership, innovative learning, and resilience have led her around the world and she is a sought-after speaker on topics ranging from leadership courage to living your purpose.  

As a Senior Faculty member and Certified Consultant in The Daring Way, Susan is a trusted partner to ground-breaking researcher Dr. Brené Brown and her colleagues.  Susan’s clients value her ability to connect in an authentic way, her passion for life-long learning, her courage to foster impactful changes – both in her work and in her own life.  Susan’s consulting and coaching skills and workshop facilitation have made her popular, because she has the ability to focus and build solutions that create sustainable change for individuals and organizations alike.

Within the Human Resources discipline, Susan worked for Fortune 500 company, KeyCorp, and has a unique understanding of the challenges that organizations face in the global marketplace.  It is with that knowledge that Susan is able to craft thoughtful, meaningful learning experiences that engage and challenge.  Beyond her corporate work, Susan held the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Chief Human Resources role at University of California-Irvine. There, Susan led a 60-person organization and took it through a renaissance, where she created a career development program that was awarded a rare grant from the University of California Office of the President.

The fierce energy and big heart that Susan brings to all she undertakes has resulted in a portfolio of diverse projects and experiences.  From traveling across six continents in search of rare birds to enabling people to lead and live with vision, Susan has truly embraced the world around her – its beauty, the connections that result from vulnerability and courage, and the opportunities that only present themselves when you show up ready to be amazed.
