Speaker: Patricia Cassidy

Topic:  Coaching Across Cultures: Communication Styles

Following a brief introduction to communication style continuums, participants will have an opportunity to explore their personal preferences for communication and then work in small groups discussing the strengths and challenges of each style. An opportunity to practice “style shifting” will be offered. An interactive group discussion will follow: What did you learn from this activity? How easy was it to switch styles? Were there any surprises? What implications could this have in a coaching relationship?

Key objectives for this workshop are:

· Explore various communication styles

· Identify personal communication preferences

· Discuss strengths and challenges of various styles

· Experience “style switching”

· Provide a coaching tool for listening
