Description of Course

Join us for an experiential session learning about and practicing some of Ruth Rogers’ favorite techniques for releasing anxiety that she uses personally and professionally.

Ruth has been a meditation teacher and student of various schools of thought on anxiety reduction including but not limited to TM (transcendental meditation), Mindfulness, NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming), Byron Katie’s process of inquiry, etc.

We will explore several of these concepts, practice them together and discuss ways to apply them to our clients’ coaching sessions as well as to our own practice of being a coach.

What you will learn:

  • Introductions and overview.
  • Opening discussion questions: (dyads then large group)
  • What raises anxiety for you as a coach? How do you deal with it?
  • What coaching examples or issues involving anxiety present in your clients?
  • How do you deal with it?
  • Overview of two types of meditation:
  • Mantra Meditation, practice, discuss.
  • Mindfulness, practice, discuss.
  • Byron Katie Process of Inquiry, practice, discuss.
  • NLP techniques to reduce anxiety, practice, discuss.
  • Ideas for use in future personal practice and in coaching sessions, discussions and sharing.
  • Evaluation


About Ruth Dow Rogers

A student on the path of self-mastery herself, Ruth Dow Rogers brings a high-level of authenticity to her work. She believes that every person deserves the opportunity to discover their own optimum self and relishes the role of “encourager and coach.”

Ruth warmly acknowledges the strengths of her clients while insisting on personal responsibility. Having worked in settings ranging from the government, healthcare, education, manufacturing, entertainment, and high-tech fields; not much surprises Ruth, which gives her the unique ability to meet you right where you are.

Using techniques and materials grounded in her own life experience, education, (and spiritual path), Ruth promises they have little to do with theory (or religion), and everything to do with honoring both the client and the sacred in a practical way. Her facilitation creates the environment for wisdom, intuition, and insight to emerge—both hers and yours.

Ruth graduated from Boston University with a Masters’ in Education: Counseling and Human Services. She has been certified in both Meyer’s Briggs (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory Interpretation, is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), is a certified Soul Coach by Denise Linn, has studied and attended classes on the Enneagram, The Process of Inquiry by Byron Katie, Whole Hearted Living by Brene Brown, and is a trained and certified meditation teacher. Driven by the belief that joy can be intertwined throughout everything, she will assist you in the process of reframing your challenge, while being no less serious about the process.

Ruth has traditional counseling/coaching skills and experience in the areas of career, relationship, communication, and spirituality. She also has the gift of inspiration and uplifts her clients while assisting them in discovering their old beliefs that have become barriers to achieving their goals in the present. She uses an eclectic process and tools to lead clients to dissolving old emotional imprints. Through the transmuting of these old beliefs and stuck unexpressed emotions and perspectives, a transformation results and shows up internally as well as externally in their experience.
