Description of Course

Emotional Intelligence(EQ) is the key to how we interact with others and move through the world around us. Knowing about our EQ is a fundamental tool for improving our self-knowledge, self-esteem and level of happiness. And being a good coach begins with understanding and accepting ourselves so that we can be fully available to our clients. Awareness of our own EQ and that of our clients can help us connect with them on a deeper level and understand behaviors around: self-regard, assertiveness, stress tolerance and empathy, among others. EQ is an essential weapon in any good coach's arsenal of healing and shepherding clients’ growth.

Join us for an engaging session on how knowledge of EQ can benefit coaches and coaching.

About Janet

Janet Livingstone is an instructional designer, trainer and executive coach. She is part of Boeing's China Strategy and Initiatives team, which delivers leadership development programs to aviation leaders from China. Janet is certified in EQ-i 2.0 and has lived and worked on four continents. She trained as a coach at Coaching Systems, Inc. in Prague, a program accredited by the European Coaching and Mentoring Council. Her coaching focuses on leaders and other humans in transition, especially those relocating across cultural borders for work, including C-suite executives and nonprofit leaders. In Seattle, Janet also enjoys being a member of Accelement, a nonprofit organization devoted to coaching and mentoring Seattle-based startup founders. As a result of her life experience, Janet speaks six languages - but not all at the same time. In her spare time, she likes to ski, write for a humor magazine, translate modern Slovak literature and sing karaoke (sometimes even in public).
