Description of Workshop

Our Spring Event is devoted to energy and creativity. It will feature inspiring speakers, working in concurrent breakout groups (everyone gets to experience all three breakouts), providing you with the opportunity to explore energy and creativity in a new way, and outside of the realm of our typical coaching experiences. We will also explore how ICF core competencies are connected with energy and creativity.

You will have the opportunity to network in a relaxing atmosphere, meeting old friends and making new connections over drinks and appetizers.

Come and enjoy our “energy and creativity” Happy Hour in a most inspiring place with stimulating company. Discover and learn from the experiential offerings of the evening to expand the power of your coaching.

Workshop title: Living to Breathe

Presenter: Anu Arora, Executive, Leadership and Career Coach, President ICF WA Chapter

Anu was introduced to the ancient practices of visualization, breathing practices and meditation at a very young age by her grandfather who was an advanced practitioner himself. Many decades later she travelled back to India to study the breath work under the world known master, baba Ramdev. Those two weeks in Haridwar changed her life. She left over two decades of a glorious engineering career in high tech and aerospace engineering to further her training in these practices. Her journey to become a coach was inspired by this foundation that allowed her to be fascinated and curious about human life and its infinite potential. She has been a practicing breathing skills now for over 15 years and also teaches these skills in a variety of settings including one on one sessions.

Workshop goal and brief description: To experience the internal generative power of breath through guided breathing techniques.

The ancient art and science of breathing techniques called Pranayama (in Sanskrit) allow us to dynamically and consciously control the flow of our breath. These techniques are healing for the body, activating or calming for the mind and expansive for our consciousness. Different breathing techniques have different effects on our system. Some can energize our whole being while others move us into the parasympathetic nervous state in no time. We will practice five different techniques. You will experience increased physical vitality and mental clarity through practice of these techniques.
