Description of Course
In his recent WBECS webinar, Dr. David Drake discussed the importance of helping clients change their story in order to change their outcomes. There is a powerful connection between a client’s story and behavior, yet often both the story and the behavior have become automatic and unconscious to the client.
The same is true for us as coaches. As we work in the field and develop our style, we too create a story about our role, how we bring value, what serves our clients etc. It is our coaching story, and it drives our behavior in our work. It is often automatic and unconscious and holds our attachments, triggers and beliefs about coaching. It can determine the limits of our ability to hold space for our clients and direct the outcome of our conversations.
Doing our own work to bring into light our mindset and limitations, our attachments and aversions, and our dreams and desires is part of our professional responsibility.
