“A coach approach during 1-on-1s catalyzes more than TWICE the change than non-coaching 1-on-1s.” - Coaching Research Institute.

As a coach, you know how valuable taking a coach-approach is in a variety of situations. Extensive research shows that developing a coaching culture within organizations increases employee motivation, retention, individual performance, and organizational growth. It also grooms the next generation of leaders, helps attract talented staff, and promotes improved customer interactions.

However, what does it take to develop an organizational coaching culture? It is more than just training leaders in the mechanics of how to coach. Learn what else needs to happen to ensure a coaching culture takes root.

In this session we will uncover:

  • What is a coaching culture.
  •  Why a coaching culture benefits organizations.
  •  Five best practices for developing an organizational coaching culture.
  •  How workplace coaching aligns (or mis-aligns) with the ICF Core Competencies.
  • How participants can use this information in their coaching practice even if they do not coach inside an organization.

Leading the session:

Louise Sportelli has a M.Ed. in Adult Education and Training from Seattle University and is an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach. She has over 20 years’ experience working with executives, mid-level managers, and teams to improve their performance. In recent years, her focus has been on leadership development including coaching executives and small businesspeople. She gets a real kick out of seeing her clients experience that “aha” moment when they realize a new approach is producing positive results.

Louise is the creator of How to Coach Your Team to Success©, a workplace coaching skills program that pairs group learning with observation of individual coaching sessions. The latter include direct feedback and mentoring so new skills are implemented effectively. Program results are more confident leaders, more productive teams, increased motivation and engagement, and a deeper bench of future leaders.

Louise has extensive experience working for and with government entities, multinational corporations, non-profit groups, and small businesses. She began her career in the international reinsurance field managing large international contracts and then moved on to roles in software development, finance, and outdoor recreation. She is a member of Association for Talent Development, International Coach Federation and Pacific Northwest Organizational Development Network.
