Relational Presence: Your Foundation for Coaching Mastery

1.5 Core Competency CCEUs

A coach’s presence is integral to delivering coaching sessions that resonate with clients.

Yet sometimes your attention can drift away from your client, pulling you out of that in-the-moment connection between you and them.

How do you return to relationship with your client? How do you expand your capacity for maintaining presence?

This interactive workshop equips coaches with essential elements from the Relational Presence methodology. Being in Relational Presence hones your sense of what to say when and which coaching skills/tools to apply in the context of the ICF Core Competencies. This type of presence helps to move clients to insight followed by inspired action.

Through demonstrations with volunteers, coaches will learn a fresh way of “being with” clients that helps coaches to embody a coaching mindset, cultivate trust and safety, maintain presence, and deepen listening. The practice of Relational Presence enriches coaches at every level of development, no matter if you are new to coaching or moving from ACC to PCC or PCC to MCC.

At this workshop, you will learn how to:

·       Create from connection, by staying focused on the client while tuning in to your intuition.

·       Manage your own emotions and stay grounded, so you can be with the full range of emotions of the client.

·       Raise your level of authenticity, so you feel comfortable no matter what comes up in a coaching session.

·       Stretch your capacity for staying present, thereby building trust and supporting the client’s wisdom.

With Relational Presence, every coach can build a richer connection with clients that evokes their best coaching self in service of the client. ICF Coaching World highlighted this topic at: https://coachfederation.org/blog/a-way-to-be

*Please come to this workshop camera ready. We’ll be asking you to be present with us on camera.

Leading the session:

Tina Mertel and Pam Noda are seasoned trainers of Relational Presence (also known as Speaking Circles®).  Each of them regularly facilitates Relational Presence workshops both for the public and in organizations. Both use Relational Presence in coaching sessions with their clients. Experience has taught them that being in Relational Presence with clients is the ground of coaching wisdom. From there emerges a coach’s sense of what to say when and which skills/tools to apply. From there emerges a client’s inner knowing and call to action. This combination is what yields inspired coaching from the coach and inspired results for the client.  You can learn more about Tina here: www.MeaningfulCoaching.com and about Pam here: TrueVoiceTraining.com
