      Dr. Joel Pérez is a highly experienced executive and leadership coach committed to helping coaches unlock their potential and elevate their practice. With a strong focus on fostering cultural humility, Joel empowers coaches to guide their clients in building inclusive, impactful environments that drive meaningful change.

      As the founder of Apoyo Coaching and Consulting, LLC, and a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Joel specializes in equipping coaches with the tools they need to effectively serve diverse clients. His extensive credentials—including certifications in the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), Gallup Strengths Coaching, and creative coaching methods—enable him to help coaches expand their expertise and make a greater impact.

      With over 20 years of leadership experience in higher education, Joel has a unique understanding of the challenges and opportunities coaches encounter when working with organizations and teams. Joel is the author of Dear White Leader: How to Achieve Organizational Excellence through Cultural Humility, a thought-provoking book that equips leaders to drive meaningful change at the personal, organizational, and community levels. The book was recently honored with the Silver Award for Best New Voice – Nonfiction by the Independent Book Publishers Association, recognizing its powerful relevance and impact in today’s leadership landscape.

      Joel’s academic foundation, including a doctorate in higher education administration from Claremont Graduate University, informs his practical approach to coaching. Beyond his professional life, Joel cherishes time with his wife of 28 years and their four children, cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers, and enjoying great movies.
