Awareness has spread that we’re not done developing once we hit adulthood. Maturation can continue to emerge, increasing one’s capacities for transformative leadership in life, in the workplace and in the world. A growing number of organizations (from corporations to government agencies) have begun incorporating a developmental view and assessment into their leadership programs.

As coaches, we are uniquely positioned to support this development. Yet how aware are we of how development unfolds? Further, how aware are we that the field of developmental assessment is itself in the midst of transformative learning and change?

This presentation invites you to join Kim Frerichs, PCC, whose coaching has incorporated a developmental understanding since 2005, in conversation with Dr. Terri O’Fallon, the woman whose cutting edge research is creating exciting new awareness. What has emerged is a groundbreaking new theory and assessment methodology for human development, StAGES.

What is new? Dr. O’Fallon’s research into the later stages of adult development has lengthened the thread of available data, making visible something that wasn’t seen before. What we can now see are a beautiful set of iterating patterns – patterns that shape the trajectory of human development, repeating themselves as we transition into new areas of focus and learning, and revealing the unique and essential gifts offered by each stage of the journey.

We hope you will join us in an interactive exploration of these patterns, and their relevance to you as a coach.

This presentation will introduce participants to:

·       The relevance of a developmental understanding to organizational leadership development programs, to coaching clients and to coaches themselves.

·       StAGES, a groundbreaking new theory and assessment methodology for human development. Specifically, participants will learn about key patterns that repeat themselves as people grow and develop, and markers that reveal developmental transitions and differentiate stages.

·       Appreciative and cautionary thoughts on the application of a developmental model within a coaching context

Participants in this session:

·       Will gain awareness of cutting edge research on human development and the applicability of this field to leadership development programs and coaching

·       Will leave with an ability to describe key iterating patterns within human development

·       Will learn to identify developmental markers and differentiators

·       Will take away an appreciation for the beauty, gifts and essential learning offered by each stage of development

A light dinner buffet will be served.

ICF CCEs available for attending this event. Be sure to register online and check in at the event in order to receive them.
