        Handling Clients’ Emotions:

The Intersection Between Coaching and Therapy

        Thursday, November 13th, 2025

        12:00 - 1:30 PM PDT (Virtual)

One of the nuanced challenges facing professional coaches is the need to build strong, empathetic client relationships while maintaining a goal-oriented and forward-looking approach. Even with a clear understanding of the lines between coaching and psychotherapy, the reality is that clients bring their whole body of life experience, emotions and behaviors to every session of a coaching engagement. A client may present with everything from bewildering self-sabotaging behavior to high emotions and a myriad of subtle symptoms in between. Our aim is to support coaches in navigating this by helping them observe and facilitate their clients’ experience with emotional material while maintaining boundaries.
